Warehouse Management

Custom warehouse and stock-location software for receiving, putaway, picking, counts and shipping, connected to your order and accounting systems.

A warehouse system is where inventory numbers meet physical shelves. Receiving, putaway, picking, cycle counts and shipping all change stock levels, and they can happen at the same time from handheld scanners, a packing station and an order import.

IKRC builds custom warehouse and stock-location software for businesses whose process does not fit an off-the-shelf WMS: supply yards, construction material stores, multi-site stockrooms and similar. Early design questions include bin and location structure, scanning at each movement, and how the system connects to the order and accounting systems.

Concurrent updates are one place stock counts can go wrong. If two pickers take the last units from the same bin and both devices save "quantity minus one" from the same starting value, one change is lost and the count drifts. A concurrency check is one option: with a SQL Server rowversion column configured as a concurrency token in EF Core, EF Core compares the value on save and rejects the second save instead of overwriting the first. The rejected pick then has to be checked again against current availability and business rules, such as whether the bin still holds stock, before it is retried or returned to the picker, not simply decremented again.

For stock levels, reorder points and inventory reporting across locations, see Inventory Management.
