VSEO Video SEO

Help your videos meet the requirements for Google's video results with watch pages, structured data, video sitemaps and accurate metadata.

Video SEO means making your videos eligible for Google's video results and easier to find on video platforms. Google documents how it finds and shows video, and its requirements are technical checks that a site can meet or miss.

What Google's documentation asks for

  • A watch page for each video, with a title and description unique to that video
  • Valid video structured data, a video sitemap, or both, using the fields Google requires for that format. For VideoObject structured data the required properties are name, thumbnailUrl and uploadDate.
  • A valid thumbnail at a stable URL, at least 60x30 pixels, with larger preferred
  • Metadata that matches what is actually in the video

On a database-driven site with a large catalog, these are template and data problems. IKRC generates the structured data and sitemap entries from the same records that produce the videos, so replacing a video updates its structured data and sitemap entry. We can also produce the videos from content you already have and upload them to video platforms automatically. See Video Generation and Processing.

None of this guarantees a position in search results. It helps meet Google's eligibility requirements and gives Google accurate information about each video. Google also requires the watch page itself to be indexed and performing well in Search before its video can be considered for indexing.
